Authority Fawning

A survival-based appeasement response where you over-accommodate authority figures to stay safe, avoid conflict, or secure belonging.
• You read the leader’s mood and adjust quickly to keep things smooth.
• You agree, praise, or comply even when something feels off.
• You downplay your needs and boundaries to avoid punishment, shame, or exclusion.

Potential clinical implications (especially in high control settings)

• Chronic anxiety and hypervigilance, especially around authority, evaluation, or “spiritual correction.”
• Weakening trust in your own perceptions as approval becomes the main safety signal.
• Increased susceptibility to exploitation due to automatic compliance and fear of disapproval.
