My Ethical Commitment

If you’re here, you may be carrying the weight of religious trauma, working through deconstruction, or noticing the lingering effects of what’s called religious residue. Whether your experience was in a high-control religion, a rigid spiritual environment, or any setting where your autonomy was diminished — please know: therapy with me will not echo that.

This space is the opposite of control. It’s the opposite of coercion. You deserve to feel safe as you unpack, question, grieve, reconstruct — or not reconstruct — your beliefs on your own terms.

This is what you can expect with me:

  • No Agenda, No Pressure, No Persuasion
I will never try to get you to stop believing something you believe in — or to start believing something you don’t. I’m not here to promote a particular worldview, faith, or ideology.

  • Support Through Deconstruction and/or Reconstruction
Whether you're in a season of deconstruction, questioning long-held beliefs, or rebuilding a new sense of meaning — I honor that. I hold space for grief, clarity, anger, freedom, confusion, peace — all of it.

  • Respect for Your Spiritual Identity (or Non-Identity)
You may still hold a connection to the faith you came from. You may not. You may not know yet. All of that is valid. My role is to help you explore, not to direct. To walk beside you, not ahead of you.

  • Awareness of Religious Residue
Even after leaving a high control religion, group or cult, many people find themselves wrestling with lingering guilt, fear, shame, or internalized messages. Together, we can gently examine those layers — always at your pace.

  • A Space Free From Spiritual Bypass or Religious Control
This is a space where you do not have to perform. You don’t need to say the “right” thing. I will never shame, minimize, or spiritually bypass your pain — and I will never use belief as a way to explain away your trauma.

You are not here to be reshaped into something. You are here to be witnessed, supported, and respected — wherever you are in your journey.

I am deeply committed to holding that kind of space.
