Difficulty Setting Boundaries

Screenshot 2026-01-09 at 8.29.39 AM.png

A relational pattern where you struggle to say no, name limits, or protect your needs—often because boundaries have been punished or spiritualized as “selfish.”
• You override your discomfort to keep peace or avoid shame.
• You feel responsible for others’ emotions and compliance becomes your default.
• You second-guess your right to privacy, rest, or disagreement.

Potential clinical implications (especially in high control settings)

• Burnout, resentment, and somatic stress symptoms from chronic self-abandonment.
• Increased risk of manipulation, exploitation, or re-traumatization.
• Depression/anxiety tied to learned powerlessness and fear of relational rupture.
